Out of the mouths of six year old boys who are way beyond their years!!

Brian had a long day at work yesterday. He sat in his seat at the dinner table and let out a big sigh. Andrew asked him what was wrong and Brian said it was just a long day at work and he was having a hard time on the job he was doing. Andrew asked him why it was hard. Brian said there were several things, like they didn't have the supplies they needed and the person running the job didn't really know what they were doing. I had some insight in to this latter problem, I knew that the person running the job was a woman and I can only imagine what a bunch of guys think of having a woman as their general contractor. Andrew asked who was running the job and Brian said (without any special emphasis on any of his statement); "Her name is Cathy, and that's part of the problem". And Andrew without hesitation said, "because she's a woman?" Brian and I couldn't believe it! He sure is a perceptive little devil! =)

It only took me 6 years and 3 kids....

but I finally did it! I have wanted to do this, or some variation of it since Andrew was born! I finally got it together and I love it! These are just a few pics of the nursery since I "updated" it! Thanks to my precious friend Elise for the sweet wall art! Sorry it took me over a year to get it up! Also thought I would include a few pics of our morning...Kelli always loves to greet Emily in the morning and Emily gets so excited when we walk in her room!

The Big Birthday Bash!!

We had such a fun time yesterday at Emily's birthday party! The weather didn't exactly cooperate...we had several downpours! Thankfully the garage was close by and ended up being the perfect shelter! The kids had a blast getting wet in the rain and because they were already wet, were allowed to get in the pool with their clothes on! Here are some pictures from the day! Thanks so much to all of you who came to help us celebrate! I know it was a long week for many of you (mom and dad are the lucky ones who were captured on camera showing signs of the toll of the week!) For those of you who don't know, my mom and dad purchased a beautiful home and they and my sisters have been helping to get their current house ready to put on the market and hosted the worlds most successful garage sale from Wednesday through Saturday. You can see a few pics of their new house at Nikki's blog (link on the upper right hand side). It is the perfect house for them!! Enjoy the pictures! Hopefully they capture the fun we had!!

A beautiful Summer evening

It has been so beautiful around here the last couple days! It is amazing what having the windows open and letting in fresh air does for the soul! I got a new lens so I was trying it out on the kiddos tonight...it is a super wide angle lens, and I think I am going to like it! We have Emily's 1st birthday party tomorrow and I can't believe she is already going to be ONE!!! It is crazy how fast this year has gone! She sure has a strong personality (thinking maybe I need to read Dr Dobsons Strong Willed Child) but she sure can light up the room with her smile and gibberish as well! Of course I will post pictures of the party next week! Have a great weekend everyone! Oh, and I know some of you want to see pictures of my new hair cut....Brian took some pictures tonight, but I don't like them, and since I am the "author" of this blog, I get final say and well, I'm not gonna post 'em!! So I will try to get some better ones soon! Although many of you who read this will be here tomorrow so that will be a mute point! =)

Out of the mouths...

Tonight Andrew and Kelli were in the kitchen as I was preparing their dinner and Andrew says, "Mom! I am starving!!" Kelli replies;"Andrew, you are not starving, kids in California are starving". Guess we need to work on some geography!

A beautiful evening

New Attitude

Emily has gotten quite the attitude when she doesn't get what she wants, and sometimes it is hard to figure out what she wants. She also has developed a habit of glaring at people (with the exception of her mother, but especially Aunt Lauren). We tried to capture a little of both on video tonight....didn't get the best of the glare...but brace your self for the attitude!

Can't believe she is almost one!!!

I cannot believe my sweet Emily is almost one!! This year has FLOWN by! She is such a sweet girl now (she was such a pistol the first 6+ months!!) She is so chatty and has the best smile and gives them out freely! She is in constant motion and constantly exploring. She is very clear when she wants something she doesn't have and has an ear piercing volume that lets us know she needs attention. She clearly understands the word "no" and usually listens very well. She is a great eater, great sleeper, great mood lifter and a great entertainer! Can't imagine life without her! So thankful for my sweet little ones! Here are those shots I promised...the second two are the ones I used for her invitation. The first one was just an everyday bath that shows her sweet disposition!

"Excuse me??"

I really hope that I can do this story justice in words. I am afraid it may have been one of those you had to be there moments, but I have to give it a try.

My darling husband absolutely left me dumbfounded at dinner tonight. We were having a conversation about a guy who was supposed to come over to our house tonight to give us an estimate for doing some improvements to our driveway and he didn't come, so our conversation, as heard through my ears, went like this.....

Me: Do you think Tommy will still come tonight?

Brian: Nope, he was supposed to come Friday night, but he totally forgot. Since I got off work early today I called him and told him he could come, but he must not have been able to make it work. And he can't come tomorrow because I am getting snipped." (said very matter of factly)

Me (jaw dropped and totally stunned): Excuse Me??

Brian: Getting snipped tomorrow

Me: What do you mean, getting snipped tomorrow?

Brian: Kori, come on! What do you think it means that a guy is getting snipped?

Me: I know what it means, it means you are getting a vasectomy, but what do you mean YOU are getting snipped tomorrow?

Brian (laughing hysterically): Not me! Tommy! Tommy is getting snipped tomorrow!

Kori....no words, sobbing

Brian and kids...laughing hysterically

Kori, through tears: You have NO idea what you just did to my insides!

Guess I need to get my ears checked, huh??

Who are you?

I have this sitemeter thing that tells me how many people are visiting my blog each day and I just realized that it tells me where the visits are coming from....according to this site 14% of the people visiting are from somewhere other than the USA...so I have a favor...would you leave a comment on this post and tell me where you are reading from (even if you are from the US). I know there is alot of family and friend , but I am really curious to see who out there is reading all about the Mauchs! =)
